Re: Wanted Melissa Sweet Fern, Dora Or May
I have a Dora Size 4 for sale that i just wore to my Jan. Wedding. Alteration done on front hem and a bra insert. I'm 5'6 + 2.5" heel. Alteration was made by Murats in Beverly HIlls. Professionally dry-cleaned.
Hi Lisanne,
What size? I have a size 4 that I will be wearing August 31st. It will be altered as I am normally a size 2 and I am 5 feet tall (will be wearing 3.5inch heels)
I ordered Dora size 6 for my August 30, 2008 wedding. I will have it hemmed up for my 5'5" + 2.5" heels height. I will also have cups sewn into the bodice. I don't think there'll be other alterations but I'll know for sure after the dress comes in May/June.
Patty - I ordered Dora, ivory, size 6, for my August 30, 2008 wedding. I am gong to sell it after - let me know if you're interested.
I will have the bust taken in the bust to 33", waste/hips will likely not be altered and I'm 5'5" and wearing 3" heels so the length will be according to that height.
Steph, I am interested in selling my Dora gown...its a size 4, diamond white, will be wearing it to my August wedding. Let me know if you would like more information!
Hi,
I saw your reply on your post regarding a dora gown. I have a Dora gown size 4 in Ivory for sale that i wore to my May wedding. It was purchased thru R-mine Bridal in Studio City for $4200, and was directly shipped from Melissa Sweet's showroom in New York. It has never been altered. The dress is in excellent condition, i only wore it for 2 hours for the ceremony and part of the reception. I am 5'6" and street size 2, measurements are 32C-25-36, and wore 3.5" heels for my wedding. Professionally drycleaned. If you are interested, or pictures and details. Asking price is $2800. Thanks.
Hi Ladies I'm getting married on May 17 2009. I bought my wedding dress from Priscilla of Boston and will get it professionally cleaned there immediately after the wedding. I decided to sell the dress rather than let it sit in the closet. It is just too gorgeous to let it go to waste.
The dress is by Melissa Sweet, the style is Dora, and I'm getting it in size 8, color Ivory. The dress is made out of a beautiful Swiss dotted silk organza--so romantic and whimsical. I don't know if anyone is a fan of Say Yes to the Dress on TLC---this is the very dress that is on the opening credits--there is a girl with long hair wearing the dress (it has a sash) and she holds the bottom and twirls.
describes the shape as a ball gown but is it more of a relaxed ballgown--not that big puffy shape you normally see. I say it is somewhere between a ballgown and mermaid. Much more forgiving to the shape than the mermaid style (more flowy) and has all drama of a ball gown but without being so puffy. It is strapless with a modified sweetheart neckline and the gown features a ruched wrap bodice and self sash.
All I can say is I've never had a dress that made me feel so tall, thin, and beautiful (even though I don't even feel that I'm currently at my best figure). It made me feel so stunning as is--it isn't one of those dresses that you have to feel like to have to work for to look that good. I knew immediately that it was the dress. . .it made me feel so bridal and really excited about the wedding.
Anyway, my measurements were: height, 5'8", hips 39, waist 28, and bust 35. I'm probably going to get cups sewn in and possibly a french bustle. After taxes, and altertations the dress is over $4000. I'm willing to part with it for $2800-$2500 or Best Offer. I'm also willing sell the 2 tiered elbow length ivory veil that I purchased from Priscilla of Boston as well--it has the corded edging that gives it a little more body for $100.
The sale will be final, so please feel free to ask any questions. I'll take paypal payments, money orders, or personal checks. Thank you
Ladies,
I don't have the styles you inquired about, but I do have a BRAND NEW GORGEOUS Melissa Sweet dress that is VERY similar in style. In fact, I tried on the ones you all listed and the one I bought as they all gave the same feel and same fit. However, the one I chose was discontinued after it's release in 2006. Therefore, not many stores have it anymore. It's a size 8 and has never been altered or worn. I just bought two dresses and I have to part with one and I'm willing to do so at a VERY good price. Didn't know if you would be interested.
Here's the official description.
Beautiful, Brand New, Never Been Worn authentic Melissa Sweet "Romina" wedding dress. This dress is a strapless A-line natural waist with French Lace Bands over Ivory Silk Organza. The designer label and size label are intact. It's a size 8 on the tag Bust 36.0", Waist 28.0", Hips 38.0". It has never been altered and I usually wear a size 4 or 6 in street clothes. This dress is in PERFECT condition. It is very light and flowy. Extremely comfortable. Dress retailed for $4200.00. I was one of THOSE that went over budget with indecisiveness and bought two dresses and looking to sell one ASAP. $1500 OBO. Willing to negotiate. I went with a completely different style and need to sell this dress ASAP since I need to focus on other wedding planning items. I'm sure you all understand!
I have a Melissa Sweet Dora gown for sale. It's Diamond White, size 4, absolutely gorgeous. Just back from the wedding gown cleaning specialist recommended by Saks and looks like it was never worn. It was slightly altered - I'm a street size 0/2, C-cup and 5'4" but it was altered to wear with 3" heels. I love love love this dress and will be sad to see it go - but would be even more sad for it to sit in the box! Asking $2,900. Email me at anniegravel14 at yahoo dot com for photos, more info, etc.
