It's not enough to be a competent photographer.

To do well as a wedding photographer you have to love photography and to love working with people.

A photographer who is merely a good technician will give you adequate photos, but I bet that you want more than that from your wedding photographer. You want someone who is willing to go the extra mile, take the extra step and do the little things that create treasured photographs. 'Adequate" is not good enough for you.

Early on in my photography career I spent a lot of hours in the darkroom and I learned a lesson that has served me well ever since:

You can't cut corners and expect superior results. You have to 'Honor the Process".

For me this means taking the time to meet with my clients and discover exactly what they want. This means being organized and making plans in advance. This means being on time. This means having the proper equipment to do the job. This means spending hours editing your proofs and making the best photographic presentation possible.

And above all, there is no substitute for imagination and a good eye for those special moments that will mean so much to the bride and groom when they look at their wedding photos 50 years from now.
