Frankie Sands has been involved in music and singing since he was in grade school. He likes to joke, I got my first break in 5th grade. My teacher, Mr. Derogatis was a big music buff and used to have the class do quite a bit of singing. One day I was making noise and he sent me up to the front of the class to sing Arriverdecci Roma, acapella, thinking he would embarrass me and teach me a lesson for disrupting the class. When I nailed the song I instantly became his favorite instead! After that he took me all over and had me singing everywhere for everyone!
Frank's musical tastes were greatly influenced by his parents who were big music buffs. Frank Sr was always playing his favorite music from his youth ( the 40's & 50's ) which naturally included the songs of the great Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin and later, Bobby Darin. Strangely enough, when Frank was younger he didn't care to sing Sinatra songs because they weren't in his key. As his voice matured into the soothing baritone that it is today, Sinatra became his preferred artist.
Frank is not an impersonator as much as he is a Tribute Artist in that he doesn't seek to LOOK like that artist's he pays tribute to instead preferring to SOUND like them. This fact adds a great dimension to Frank's performances since he has the uncanny ability to sound like all three of the great singers he pays tribute to, Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin and Bobby Darin. Freed from having to make himself up to look like any one of them, Frank bes the quintessential Vocal Impersonator often doing all three stars in the same night! Close your eyes and you will believe that each one is on the stage when Frank Sings.
Beyond singing, Frank is an aplished Drummer and lead several jazz bands. He is a well rounded multi talented performer who lends a touch of class and elegance to any event he appears at. Influences
I have always been influenced by the works of Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Tony Bennett, Bobby Darin & Sammy Davis Jr. Their vocal techniques and Stage presence really made them giants in the industry and I don't think today's singers canpare to them.
What to Expect
Depending on the venue and the duration of the event, Frankie Sands performs either multiple sets of 30 - 45 minutes or one Full Length Show of 60 -90 minutes. Depending on the client's preference, he can perform the works of Frank Sinatra exclusively, or add songs in the style of Dean Martin & Bobby Darin. Mr. Sands works with either pre-recorded background tracks or a live band.

I had an opportunity to hire Frankie Sands for my mother's 75th Birthday party, that took place at my home. I had heard of Frankie Sands through my brother who saw him perform at a benefit. We thought it be a great idea for our mom, because she enjoyed that era of music. Frankie Sands was amazing. All of my mom's friends loved him and his ability to work the crowd was great. Not only did the older generation love him, but my younger nieces and nephews and friends enjoyed themselves, especially the Bobby Darin and Dean Martin tunes. I observed several of the older crowd tapping their hands on their knees and moving their feet. I could see that Frankie Sands, with that smooth Sinatra sound, took them back to a care free time. Frankie was a pleasure to deal with and was the consummate professional. I would highly rmend him for any type of party or family gathering.
