She is in continual demand in the Middle-Eastern, Mediterranean and Americanmunities for her vibrant, interactive shows. Having danced for Chicago's most prestigious Greek, Egyptian, Arabic, Turkish, Russian, Persian, Assyrian and Lebanese restaurants and clubs, Laila weaves the subtle variations of the different Middle-Eastern dance styles into a rich cultural tapestry, taking her audience on an enchanting magic carpet ride.
She has drawn much of her inspiration from Samya Gamal and belly dancing's Golden Age and has studied with today's best Egyptian cabaret and folkloric instructors. In addition to her Egyptian training, she has studied Turkish folkloric, karshilama, ciftetelli, and gypsy and danced with the Turkish dance troupe Aman Aman.
Drawing from her percussion background and accentuating her dancing, Laila's finger cymbals bring life and energy to her shows, adding a mesmerizing dimension to the dance.
