About Shannon:

As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, Shannon Byrnes specializes in working with couples and individuals on a one on one basis, as well as children and infants. After Shannon graduated in 1999 with her Masters Degree in Psychology, and proceeded to spend many years earning valuable knowledge and experience in numerous settings, including working through domestic violence at 'Another Way', working in anger management groups and  working with individuals struggling with trauma and violent episodes. Shannon is also certified from the Child Development Institute in Infant Mental Health, working extensively with children struggling through delays in their development.

Shannon's practices include an emphasis on: marital conflict, mindful parenting, transition and adjustment, self esteem issues, eating disorders, grief, depression, body image issues and mental disorders, anxiety, trauma and addiction. Shannon admires those who are willing to embark on the courageous journey towards transformation.

Shannon is a Licensed Marriage Family Therapist specializing in Pre-Marital and Wedding Counseling. As a Marriage and Family Therapist, Shannon is very mindful of the areas that are important to build a long lasting relationship, including focusing on a couples strengths and weaknesses, helping to define awareness and connection to one another. She will help with conflict resolution, communication, friendships, finances, spirituality, parenting, habits, leisure activities, and any other fathomable type of human interaction.

She will initially provide a copy of Susan Piver's book, "The Hard Questions" (complimentary), and a summary letter upon completion of Pre-Marital Counseling. Shannon has worked with couples for many years, and through the Prepare/Enrich program, is certified to counsel pre-marital & marital couples, co-habitating couples, and couples with blended families. Shannon is a board member of Los Angeles CAMFT for Trauma Response and is a member of CAMFT, AAMFT and IAPSP.
