Strings of Pearls
A rare breed in the world of music, Strings of Pearls violin duo spans the ages from Baroque to Modern. On our website, we have provided several demo clips of some of our performances ranging from the tip of Nova Scotia to Asia, to some of the major cities of Europe and the United States. Also included are various audio clips of some of the lighter fare for violin duo for our elegant party and wedding engagements.

So, whether it is a pleasant evening of chamber music or a personal intimate gathering, we are ready to provide for your musical needs.
About Allen
Former student of Dr. Samuel Applebaum, head of the String Department of the Manhattan School of Music, and of Michael Tree, violist with the Guarneri Quartet - has taught violin and viola at Seton Hall University, the Long Hill Music Center, and the French School of Music, as well as at his own private studio. He has taught also at the United Nations International School in New York and currently also teaches in the long-revered Suzuki Violin Program of Queensboroughmunity College in New York, as well as at Trevor Day School in Manhattan.
As well as teaching, Mr. Weakland performs throughout the tri-state area, as first violinist with The Summit Strings and with the Baroque Orchestra of New Jersey, with the latter of which he has appeared as soloist on numerous occasions. As concertmaster at Carnegie Hall, he appeared in concert with renowned Englishposer, John Rutter, and has also appeared with Peter Schickele in his world-famous PDQ Bach concerts. He is also a member of the first violin section of the Astoria Symphony in New York, of the Edison Symphony, and of the South Orange Symphony. He recently took part in a harp and strings concert at the German Mission to the United Nations in New York, where he performed on the viola. Along with Agnes Kwasniewska, as the violin duo, Strings of Pearls, he has recently performed the Bach Concerto for Two Violins, the Vivaldi Concerto for Four Violins, and two different Vivaldi Concertos for Two Violins --- all with the Baroque Orchestra of New Jersey. Strings of Pearls also appears in duo recitals throughout the tri-state area.
Mr. Weakland recently performed under renowned pianist and conductor, Vladimir Ashkenazy during the 2nd Hong Kong International Pianopetition, and has performed for several weeks the last two summers in Nova Scotia, Canada. He also recently performed, as part of a Strings of Pearls recital at a Holiday Festival near Mannheim, Germany.
