Mark Wangerin was born in the midwest in 1964, he took up the violin at age 9, the piano at 10, and became a professional jazz drummer at the age of 13. He took his degree in music theory and composition at a private university in Southern California.

Music and art have been the inspirational force behind Mark's creative imagery as a photographic artist, making him a venerable composer of sight and sound. A lover of black and white, he mentored under hollywood photographer Richard Settle, long time friend and assistant to master photographer George Hurrell, whose genius redefined glamour portraiture during the golden age of the silver screen.

Mark is at once a traditionalist and an eplorer, creating masterpieces with an 8x10 camera, retouching the negatives by hand with paint brush and dyes and printing to silver gelatin as well as using cutting edge digital technology from shoot to print.

"I don't capture, I create" is the credo that has always been responsible for the images that are featured on his clients walls and resting on their coffee tables.
